Shop Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Hazard Assessment Guide

The Shop Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Hazard Assessment Guide identifies hazards to which shop workers may be exposed and specifies PPE to protect against hazards during work operations. When completed, the document and its associated training will satisfy the PPE Hazard Assessment and Certification as required in Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 296-800-160 by the Labor & Industries Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH).

Shop and Maker Space Safety

University personnel, students and visitors in shops and maker spaces may be exposed to hazardous machinery, physical hazards, hazardous materials or procedures that could result in injury.

Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) provides resources for shops and maker spaces to address the health and safety issues they may encounter.

Ergonomics

The Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Ergonomics Program helps University departments/units and personnel identify risk factors that can contribute to the development of work-related musculoskeletal injuries and determine solutions to eliminate or reduce these risk factors.
