The University’s 2023 Work-Related Injury and Illness Summaries are posted on the Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) website. The summaries show the number and type of work-related recordable injuries and illnesses. University units are required to download the summary for their location and post it from February 1 - April 30, 2024 in a location where employees can easily access it.

The UW incidence rates of recordable work-related injuries and illnesses over time can be viewed on the Incident Reporting webpage. The overall incidence rate for UW decreased in 2023 mainly due to a reduction in work-related COVID-19 illnesses.

OSHA recordable injuries and illnesses are defined as those that result in days away from work, restricted work or transfer to another job, medical treatment beyond first aid, loss of consciousness, a significant injury or illness diagnosed by a licensed health care professional, or death.
