Select Agent Training for UW

This training, in combination with the UW Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) Training, is specific to an individual’s access to select agents and toxins, and the scope of their work. It is designed to ensure that individuals can safely work with select agents and comply with UW procedures to mitigate risks to people, the agent or toxin security, the environment, and the public. Some of the topics covered are:

    CDC Select Agent program
    UW Select Agent program
    Biosecurity overview
    Insider threat awareness
    Suitability assessment
    Information security
    Inventory and records management

The training is scheduled as needed and is suitable for all Select Agent research staff, facility managers and biosafety officers. This training meets the federal select agent regulation requirements.

Access codes for registration are provided to program participants. If you need a code to register, email the UW Select Agent Program.
