This course provides outdoor heat exposure information for employees and other University personnel who work outdoors during the months from May through September ​at or above action level temperatures listed on the Outdoor Heat Exposure webpage (and according to the Washington Administrative Code 296-62-095 Outdoor Heat Exposure).

Excessive heat can cause a range of heat-related illnesses, and it’s important for employees to learn how to recognize and control heat exposure, as well as respond to and monitor symptoms of heat illness.

Intended Audience 

Employees and other University personnel who are required to perform a work activity outdoors during any month from May through September for more than 15 minutes in any 60-minute period.
