Health and Safety Committee Training Program - Online

The University's health and safety committee member training contains two modules and a course evaluation.

Module 1: Health and Safety Committee Member Training: This training provides an overview of the University of Washington’s Health and Safety committee structure, your role and responsibilities as a committee member, expectations for member communication,  meeting management, and the safety resources available to all members.

Module 2: Five Why Root Cause Analysis: University employees and supervisors can prevent accidents and incidents from recurring when they identify correctible root causes and take the appropriate corrective and preventative actions. This training displays how root cause analysis works and let's you practice the Five Whys Technique for incident investigation. The training also identifies how to document incident investigations in the Online Accident Reporting System (OARS).
