Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) recognizes the impact of federal funding and policies creating uncertainties on our research community. In the case that researchers receive a directive from a federal funding agency to stop, pause, suspend, or terminate activities, we provide the following resources:
- The Laboratory Shutdown Checklist is a quick reference for safely shutting down a research space and continuing operations remotely.
- The Guide to Business Continuity and Recovery Planning for Laboratories and Research Facilities supplements existing BARC plans and includes a business continuity planning checklist to assist personnel and research facilities in maintaining research continuity with their own unique needs and circumstances.
We encourage all principal investigators and lab managers to develop a research continuity plan to support the long-term success of our labs and research programs.
Additional resources
The UW Office of Research provides guidance and updates on federal administration research policies and resources for actions to take related to disruptions with grant administration, human subjects and animal subjects research.
