Radiation Safety Training, Initial – Online and Classroom
Radiation Safety Training consists of four online modules and a two-hour classroom training and final exam to satisfy the basic training requirement for radiation workers as set forth in the University of Washington Radioactive Materials License.

At the end of all four modules you are required to verify that you have completed and understand the subject matter. Once you have completed the four modules, you may register for the classroom portion of the training.

All personnel who use radioactive materials at the UW; individuals who have not yet completed the training may work under the direct supervision of laboratory personnel/staff that are already certified as Radiation Workers by the EH&S Radiation Safety Office (the period of direct supervision may not exceed 90 days)
