Laboratory Safety Manual

Welcome to the UW Laboratory Safety Manual. If you have the 2009 edition, please be aware that there were changes in 2010 that should be added. Those changes are described here. Those changes have been included in the current manual described below.

Every laboratory on campus must have access to a copy of the Manual and the Laboratory Specific Information. You may choose to do one or more of the following:

  • bookmark this webpage and keep your Lab Specific Information in your laboratory. To read or download these PDF documents, you must have Adobe Acrobat ReaderGet Acrobat Reader.
  • print the entire PDF version below (double-sided if possible - it's 364 pages long.) If you like, use our online form to order tabs and "cover art" (doesn't include binder) for approximately $8.
  • use our online form to purchase a hard copy of the manual, including tabs and "cover art" (doesn't include binder), for approximately $30.
  • send a blank CD and return address via Campus Mail to UW Lab Safety Manual, EH&S, Box 354400 (add UW and Seattle, WA 98195-4400 for regular mail) to request a CD copy of the manual.
