The course teaches the knowledge and skills required to safely enter, exit, and perform work in permit-required confined spaces. The hands-on training emphasizes hazard assessment, planning, air monitoring, safety equipment, gear, and rescue.

Intended Audience 

This course is required for University personnel who are involved in permit-required confined space activities. Personnel are required to retake this course when there is a permit-required confined space hazard for which the employee has not already been trained, when there are deviations from procedures for permit-required confined space entry, or when employee knowledge or use of procedures is inadequate.
