Submit it to EH&S for a chance to be recognized at the 2019 Laboratory Safety Awards & Innovations Event.
To enter, email a description of your innovation to labcheck@uw.edu (with ”Innovation” as the subject header). Selected innovations will be shared at the event on December 9 through presentations and posters.
Researchers and departments on campus are constantly coming up with new ways to address safety issues specific to their labs and workgroups. Previous innovations recognized by EH&S are listed on the Lab Safety webpage.
Is your lab or department promoting a strong safety culture?
Awards in laboratory safety performance will be given to departments from each of UW’s three main campuses and to individual laboratories who are leading the way for improving safety culture.
One department from each school/college will receive the Top Dawg in Safety trophy and one lab from each school/college will receive the Pack Leader in Safety trophy. Winners will be announced by EH&S in November, and trophies will be handed out at the event. All winners and innovations will be recognized on the EH&S website.

The 2019 Laboratory Safety Awards & Innovations Event will take place on December 9 at the HUB with Provost Mark Richards in attendance. EH&S invites all members of the UW research community to attend and celebrate the work being done to enhance our culture of safety on UW campuses.
