DEOHS Radiation Safety Continuing Ed Course


Professionals who have some radiation safety job responsibilities may be interested in a one-time radiation safety course offered by the UW Environmental and Occupational Health Services Continuing Education Programs.

Radiation Safety: Principles, Practice, and Emerging Issues

March 19-20, 2018 | UW Medicine South Lake Union

This 2-day course is designed to give participants the opportunity to review the principles of radiation protection (ionizing and non-ionizing), regulations and recordkeeping requirements, and discuss the science of health risk and recommended safety practices for emerging sources of radiation. Industry case studies and an interactive instrumentation lab will reinforce principles of radiation safety and give participants an opportunity to learn more about best practices for monitoring and to interact with other professionals who have successfully implemented controls in their workplaces.
