Strategy
- If it's putrescible, it must be frozen.
- Put no liquid in the dry waste box.
- Put no lead in any radioactive waste container.
- Make sure absorbed liquid pails are as full of dirt as
possible.

Other Tips
If you bulk your scintillation fluid waste
make sure the emptied scint vials are dry before disposing of
them in radioactive waste. Alternatively you may wash the
vials and dispose of them in your lab's glass waste.
Radiation Safety compiles the week's waste
collection list on Wednesday morning and finishes collections by
the end of the day Thursday. If you have waste you want
collected, call before Tuesday night! If you call late,
we'll put your lab on the following week's collection list.
