  • Ancillary Personnel are any people who enter your radioactive material use or radiation spaces and have no formal training as radiation workers.
  • This may include lab helpers or researchers who do not use RAM; custodial staff; plumbers; carpenters; facilities personnel; visitors; technologists performing procedures while RAM is being used; and vendors.
  • It is the responsibility of the AUI and trained radiation workers to ensure these ancillary personnel are monitored while in your spaces.
  • Ancillary personnel should be escorted and informed of areas where radiation or radioactive materials are used.
  • Ancillary personnel shall not work with radioactive materials or on materials that may contain radioactive materials (e.g.,pea trap in a hot sink) without being informed of the material in use.
