  • Dry Waste
    • Long-lived waste which is compacted.
    • Short-lived waste which is stored for decay.

  • Liquid Waste
    • Used liquid scintillation counter (LSC) cocktail in bulk containers such as 4 liter jugs.
    • Use LSC cocktail in scintillation vials.

  • Aqueous Absorbed Waste
    • Long-lived liquid waste which is absorbed in a solid media and sent to a licensed landfill for burial.
    • Short-lived liquid waste which is absorbed in a solid media and may be stored for decay.

  • Other Waste
    • Mixed waste that include hazardous material in addition to radioactive material.
    • Lead used in shielding radioactive material.
