How to properly fill an absorbed aqueous waste bucket:

  • Mark the bucket at the half-full point.

  • Fill bucket to the half-full mark with diatomaceous earth.

  • Add liquid to the earth until it appears saturated.

  • The earth/liquid mixture should appear “slushy,” with no standing liquid.

  • It takes approximately twice the volume of diatomaceous earth to absorb the same volume of liquid.

  • Top off the bucket with fresh earth; do not overfill.

  • A five gallon bucket can weigh no more than 38 lbs.

  • A 3.5 gallon bucket can weigh no more than 26 lbs.
