RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS

back (1K)       next (1K)

Radioactive materials contain unstable atoms that emit matter and/or energy during a transition to a more stable form.

  • The radionuclide emits the radiation (e.g., P-32 labeled ATP).

  • The radiation is the energy emitted (e.g., Beta particle from P-32).

  • Radiation can be also be artificially produced such as x-rays.
