Extrapolation to Low Doses

  • If ten people take 100 aspirin each, nine will die. (This is comparable to high doses of radiation.)

  • If 1,000 people take one aspirin each, based on a linear non-threshold extrapolation, the risk of death is 0.9% or nine deaths.

  • One aspirin will not kill most people.

  • This is how “Linear-non-threshold” model works.
