Introduction

     

This training is designed for nursing staff caring for patients undergoing therapeutic treatments with radioactive material. These patients normally stay in designated rooms on designated floors of the hospital. Before nursing staff may care for these patients, federal and state regulations require that they receive radiation safety instruction. Annual refresher training is also required.
