Flammable

Some liquids, solids, and gases are flammable enough to be considered hazardous waste, including:

  • Liquids with flashpoints below 140 degrees F (in other words, at temperatures below 140 degrees F they build up enough flammable vapor to light with a match).
  • Solids that ignite spontaneously through friction or contact with moisture.

Examples include:

  • many volatile organic solvents
  • pure sodium
