Written Directions

The Environmental Health and Safety Office, Main Operations is located on the University of Washington campus at the Hall Health Center, room 201.

  • From Interstate 5, take the NE 45 Street exit and proceed about one mile east, just past 15th Avenue NE.
  • Take a right hand turn onto the campus at 17th Avenue NE and stop at the gatehouse for a parking permit, campus map, and further directions.

The Environmental Programs Office is located on the lower, eastern fringe of campus near the Center for Urban Horticulture and the UW Golf Driving Range, in the Environmental Safety Office Building.

  • From Interstate 5, take the NE 45 Street exit and proceed 1.25 miles east past 20th Avenue NE and down the viaduct.
  • At the foot of the viaduct, turn left, continuing on NE 45th Street past the golf driving range on your right.
  • At the five-way intersection, turn right onto Mary Gates Memorial Drive.
  • After 1 long block, turn right onto Clark Road.
  • Turn left after you pass the E3 parking lot.
  • Turn right into the gated parking lot called Corp Yard 3.

*Note that the building labeled "Environmental Safety Storage Building" on the campus map is a locked facility. For access, you must first go to the EPO in the portable building (ESOB) at Corp Yard 3.

Research Biological Safety Office is located in Magnusen Health Sciences Center, T-Wing, room 287A.

  • From Interstate 5, take the NE 45 Street exit and proceed about half a mile east, to 15th Avenue NE.
  • Turn right onto 15th NE and proceed about half a mile south, turning left onto campus just past NE Campus Parkway.
  • Stop at the gatehouse for a parking permit, campus map, and further directions to T-Wing of the Magnusen Health Sciences Center.
  • Cross the foot bridge to T-Wing from parking lot C10. You are now on the 4th floor of T-Wing.
  • Proceed straight through the entrance area and turn right when forced to make a choice.
  • Take the elevator or stairs down to the second floor.
  • Out of the stairs, turn right once into the hallway.
  • Go to the end of the hallway, and turn left into the next corridor.
  • Walk several steps and turn left into the next corridor.
  • Continue down this corridor until you reach room T-287A on the right side.

Radiation Safety Health Sciences Building Operations is located in Magnusen Health Sciences Center, T-Wing, room 274.

  • From Interstate 5, take the NE 45 Street exit and proceed about half a mile east, to 15th Avenue NE.
  • Turn right onto 15th NE and proceed about half a mile south, turning left onto campus just past NE Campus Parkway.
  • Stop at the gatehouse for a parking permit, campus map, and further directions to T-Wing of the Magnusen Health Sciences Center.
  • Cross the foot bridge to T-Wing from parking lot C10. You are now on the 4th floor of T-Wing.
  • Proceed straight through the entrance area and turn right when forced to make a choice.
  • Take the elevator or stairs down to the second floor.
  • Out of the stairs, turn right once into the hallway.
  • Proceed 60 feet or so, and turn left into T-274.

Radioisotope Recieving/Radioactive Waste Office is located in Magnusen Health Sciences Center, B-Wing room 122. It's entrance is on the D-Wing loading dock, accessable from the Southern side of the UWMC.

  • From Interstate 5, take the NE 45 Street exit and proceed about half a mile east, to 15th Avenue NE.
  • Turn right onto 15th NE and proceed about 0.75 miles south, crossing NE Pacific Street.
  • 15th curves left and enters campus as Columbia Road on the south side of the Magnusen Health Sciences Center.
  • Stop at the gatehouse for a parking permit, campus map, and further directions to the D-Wing Loading Dock.
  • The D-Wing Loading Dock is the second Loading Dock on the left.
