EH&S provides consultation and review services for construction projects and, as an element of that service, develops and maintains a number of design guides and standards to help assure that health and safety requirements are met.

Design Guides for aspects of construction that can affect the environment. The UW is proactive about protecting the environment. The UW also has unique environmental requirements, including an Air Operating Permit and a spill response program that includes the use of UW's spill response contractor and coordination with UW EH&S. |

Hazardous Materials |
Design Guides for hazardous material management during construction. With
many older buildings and laboratories on campus, construction at the UW
often requires careful planning for worker safety and proper disposal of
hazardous materials.
