EH&S Guide for Principal Investigators

The PI Guide is an introduction to Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) for Principal Investigators (PIs) new to the University of Washington. This guide is also a reference tool for any PI. It outlines your health and safety responsibilities as a PI and provides links to related resources. It lists related requirements for grant proposals, purchases, and similar actions. It also outlines how to plan for emergencies and disasters.

 

 

Kidde Fire Extinguisher Recall

Kidde, a manufacturer of fire extinguishers, is working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall some portable fire extinguishers due to potential safety issues. The recall involves plastic handle and plastic push button extinguishers manufactured between January 1, 1973 and August 15, 2017.

Capital Safety Project Request Form

Once a project has qualified for funding, Environmental Health & Safety will either grant funding or place the project on a prioritized list for future consideration. EH&S prioritizes projects based upon risk.
